By the Numbers: Volunteer PX Annual Report

Volunteer opportunities within the City of Phoenix had a great comeback after 2020-2021. We had a 57% increase in hours since last year. With 254,117 volunteer service hours served with 20,076 volunteers, equaling a financial impact of $7,252,499.

Recap of Heat Relief Outreach

Over the 2022 heat relief season, with the help of 91 volunteers, the Heat Response and Mitigation Office reached roughly 3,850 unsheltered people. With 95 outreach shifts, the heat relief team was able to help mitigate the stressors unsheltered folks encounter and help connect people with resources. The office distributed 38,000 heat relief supplies to 48 community organizations.

Phoenix Food Day

The City of Phoenix and Junior League of Phoenix is excited to present the eighth annual Phoenix Food Day and Healthfest for the first in-person event since 2019!

Food Day & Healthfest is celebrated to inspire people to change the way we look at food and health, personally and collectively. This family-friendly festival will offer: 50+ local exhibitors, farmer’s market, gardening demos, cooking demos, kid activities, hay rides, farm tours, prizes, music entertainment, and more.

Event details:

  • Saturday, October 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spaces of Opportunity located at 1200 W. Vineyard Rd Phoenix, AZ 85041 and Lassen Elementary School (right across the street from Spaces) at 909 W. Vineyard Rd.
  • Event parking is offsite. A shuttle service will be provided to and from the event.
