City of Phoenix Office of Homeless Solutions Outreach and Cleanup Efforts Nov. 1

Today, the City of Phoenix addressed the fifteenth and final block in the area around the Human Services Campus (HSC) through outreach and cleanup efforts, leading with services to help people experiencing homeless to get on a path to ending their homelessness.

Today’s outreach and engagement efforts resulted in 120 people accepting an indoor shelter space and five accepting a place at the Safe Outdoor Space. B-roll of today’s efforts is available for media use here.

The City of Phoenix will continue outreach in the area this week to complete the final steps of a plan to meet a court-ordered deadline to address the area around the HSC after a Superior Court judge imposed a Nov. 4 deadline to complete “the removal of all tents and other makeshift structures.”

While the final steps to comply with the court-ordered deadline are being completed, the City recognizes the work continues and there is still much to be done. The Office of Homeless Solutions will continue to implement strategies to serve every member of our community with long-term housing solutions that benefit our neighborhoods, property owners, businesses as well as those experiencing homelessness.
