Volunteer News: Welcome Amereece Sterba!

Get to know Amereece by reading her bio:

Hello, my name is Amereece Sterba, and I am the new Volunteer Program Specialist at the S’edav Va’aki Museum. I was born in Flagstaff and raised in the White Mountains. I spent 11 years in the Bay Area, where I was able to complete my Bachelor's in Humanities and European Studies with a minor in Creative Arts Management, and then went on to complete my Master’s in Art History and Visual Culture. While I was working on my Master’s degree, I was a volunteer intern for a small not-for-profit art gallery. After my internship, I was offered the role of Co-Director and took over the community engagement program and curatorial department of the gallery. After a year as a Lead Volunteer at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young Museum and Legion of Honor Museum), I was offered a part-time, then full-time position on the Visitor Services team. In the spring of 2024, I moved to Phoenix from the Bay Area. I love working in museums. Knowing that I helped the person experience or learn something new makes me feel that I have done my job successfully.
