 ​Become a Phoenix Water Wrangler!

​​This innovative volunteer program mobilizes community members to promote responsible water stewardship within the City of Phoenix. Phoenix Water Wranglers will serve as representatives in local events under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator and/or Water Conservation Staff, by assisting in water conservation outreach, communication, and education.

​ Who we are looking for: 

  • Volunteers who are at least 18 years or older
  • A high school graduate/GED equivalent, or higher 
  • An excellent communicator  
  • Able to fully complete pre-service, required training
  • Comfortable with public speaking, familiar with community development, and experienced in collaborating across diverse groups
  • Creative, responsible, flexible, and self-motivated 
  • Passionate about learning and promoting water conservation and sustainability in our desert city

Where: In-person at Burton Barr Central Library.

1221 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004​

When: Trainings are on Saturday afternoons. Volunteer opportunities range across weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekends.

Deadline: Registration for the Fall 2023 cohort is now open until October 14, 2023. Participation in a  minimum of four of the five training sessions is required in order to complete the program.

Fall Cohort, 2023: 
Five sessions, 1 per week for five weeks

General Session 1: Saturday October 21, 2023 (1-3:30pm)
General Session 2: Saturday October 28, 2023 (1-3:30pm)

Wrangler Session 1: Saturday November 18, 2023 (1-3:30pm)
Wrangler Session 2: Saturday November 25, 2023 (1-3:30pm)
Wrangler Session 3: Saturday December 2, 2023 (1-3:30pm)


PLEASE NOTE:
All are welcome to participate in these workshops- even if you do not plan to become a volunteer. HOWEVER, if you plan to volunteer with us, you MUST attend a minimum of 4 of the 5 sessions. Spring Cohort, 2024:
dates will be added near the end of 2023.
Setting will be VIRTUAL.
