Fall Clean-ups
Are you thinking of organizing a fall clean-up in your neighborhood? Did you know NSD has an array of supplies and tools for neighborhoods to use at no charge? We do! The NSD tools are itching to get back to work after a long hot summer. NSD can supply your group with rakes, shovels, loppers, pickers, bags, vests and gloves to support your neighborhood clean-up. Do you need a dumpster for all the debris you’ll take out of your neighborhood? We can provide that too! Your Neighborhood Specialist can help you reserve everything you need to make your neighborhood and community blight free. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks to schedule your request, the more advance notice the more likely you’ll get the supplies needed. Fall clean-up reservations go quickly, so if you’re thinking of a fall clean-up, now is the time to reserve your tools and dumpster with your Neighborhood Specialist. Weatherization Assistance Program
A recent participant of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) wrote NSD to express her surprise and appreciation regarding “all the grant does.” She was pleased the program installed a new air conditioning unit, replaced supply and return air vents, and sealed her home to prevent hot air from entering the residence. In addition to these services, the resident received energy efficient light bulbs and a year’s worth of filters. The resident was excited to report the improvements provided by WAP reduced her utility bill by 50%!
The Weatherization Assistance Program offers City of Phoenix residents grants to improve the health and safety, increase the energy efficiency, and reduce the utility bills of their homes. For more information about the program:
